At the recent Annual General Meeting on June 25, 2020, Dr. Gery Colombo was newly elected to the Board of Directors of Zippsafe AG as of August 1, 2020. With his know-how, innovative spirit and great wealth of experience as an entrepreneur, he will actively support the further development and expansion of Zippsafe.
Having completed his doctorate in electrical engineering and biomedical engineering at ETH Zurich, Colombo initially worked as a research manager at Balgrist University Hospital for several years. The success story of Hocoma, the world market leader for advanced technologies for movement rehabilitation, started in 1996. Founded with two friends, the company is now active worldwide with 5 branches and over 160 employees.
Similarly the potential of Zippsafe - The company with its currently around 25 employees has developed into a successful young company in the area of space-saving and process-optimized storage solutions over the past few years. The starting point is promising. In addition to Switzerland, the flexible storage solution has already convinced in Germany, Austria, France, Latvia and the USA. Colombo will be able to provide valuable inputs at process and organizational level on how Zippsafe can further scale this success.
Zippsafe AG is a young technology company, which originated in 2016 from ETH. With a focus on continuous innovation and simplicity, Zippsafe sets new standards in flexible storage solutions. The new solution for personal wardrobes, for example, enables space savings of up to 70% compared to conventional locker systems. Since being awarded the "Best Business Idea" by "The Entrepreneurial Wave" in 2016 and receiving the Venture Kick Award in 2017, orders have already been won by an international clientele from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Latvia and the USA. In August 2018, Zippsafe made it into the list of Top 100 Swiss Startups.
